After installing zerotier on Centos 6.10 and running: zerotier-cli join xxxxxxxx, I get the message:
WARNING: ioctl () failed setting up Linux tap device (set MAC)
This makes the linux machine inaccessible through the Zerotier VPN
I have carefully read the thread: https://github.com/zerotier/ZeroTierOne/issues/1314
But I can’t find a solution for the problem.
I have also outdated to version 1.6.5 but the problem persists.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thank you.
I have exactly the same error but with a Qnap TS-269L
- Qnap Firmware: 4.3.4.1652 Build 20210413 (latest for this model)
- package installed: tried both zerotier_1.8.4_x86.qpkg and zerotier_1.8.4_x86_64.qpkg
No error installing and no error joining a network, simply it didn’t talk to anything via zerotier network…
The error is shown restarting the service:
[admin@TS-269L ~]# /etc/init.d/zerotier.sh stop
[admin@TS-269L ~]# /etc/init.d/zerotier.sh start
ln: /usr/sbin/zerotier-cli: File exists
ln: /usr/bin/zerotier-cli: File exists
ln: /var/lib/zerotier-one/zerotier: File exists
[admin@TS-269L ~]# WARNING: ioctl() failed setting up Linux tap device (set MAC)
which is the same error of the original post…
Is there anything I can try to help resolve this issue?
Thank you.
Greetings.
I fixed the error by installing version 1.4.6
