Connecting 2 devices to same network

when two devices are connected successfully to the same Zerotier network the devices are connected? Does this mean all traffic between the hosts is router via Zerotier?

Thank you

If you use the ip addresses of the zerotier network, then yes, traffic will be routed using zerotier. Still zerotier always tries to find the shortest way, so if both Devices are on the same network it is most likely that most of the traffic goes through your local LAN.

To add to this, it will go through the ZeroTier NICs on both devices. And it will be encrypted with the help of ZeroTier. The traffic will most likely not be routed outside of your LAN (if both devices are connected to the same physical LAN) other than a query to the closest ZeroTier root server to find the shortest path.
