Connection download speed

Hi!

I am using ZeroTier to be able to connect with my remote devices. These devices are setup on Jetson (Orin) Nano with 4G Modem connection.

Everything has been working OK with Modem USB Huawei E3131 - the connection via Zero Tier (like ssh/scp) was stable and relatively fast (~3Mbps - which is enough for me).

The problem started when I decided to use embedded 4g module - SIM7600G-H / SIMCOM LTE M.2 card. Even though the connection itself looks ok on all speed tests (~18Mbps) the connection speed downgraded like 8-10 times. Right now max which I get through scp is 300-400Kbps. Interesting fact is that upload is OK - from my Mac to Jetson it is at around 3Mbps.

I don’t understand why it has downgraded like that even though the connection itself has not downgraded that much.

Does anyone know how to debug it? Is there a chance that for some reason ZeroTier is throttling it more for free tier?

We can really consider using paid version if this helps but I don’t know if this is the issue.

I attach some screens for reference.

Regards,
Piotr

The Huawei E3131 is a 3G-only modem. Try forcing the SIM7600G-H to use 3G HSPDA instead of 4G LTE.

Most ISPs shape and throttle everything except speed testing sites so the “fast 14 Mbps” result here means nothing. ZeroTier does not throttle traffic.

Hi, sorry my bad - I checked it again and the modem I am using is E3372 which supports 4g
