General Concepts: Planets and Moons

Hi guys!

I’m Mario, a computer engineering student from Spain. Currently I’m doing my end-of-degree project about ZeroTier architecture and it’s different possibilities of making a virtual private network.

Reading the Protocol Design Whitepaper I found two main concepts that I don’t understand really well. Planets and moons and it’s function on the network.

Can anyone explain to me what are these two concepts on an easier way in order to understand them better?

I really appreciate your help.

Planet is just the group of roots. Moon is a custom, personal root.

Let us know what isn’t clear from the manual and we’ll try to explain.
