Help setting up Exit node on vpn router

Hello community, im new to zerotier and would love to have some help with my currents issue. I set up a zerotier network with the purpose of connecting 2 vpn routers, but each one is a different brand. The first VPN router meant to act as a Zerotier server is a Cudy travel router tr1200, inside the settings for the router i hose Zerotier Master and added it to the zerotier network. The second router which is meant to act as a client is a Glinet Flint 2, it has also been addded to the network. My main objective is making my client router to use the server router as exit node, meaning that the client router should access the internet with the server router IP address. The current setup is that both of these routers are connected via ethernet to the ISP router and the server router ISP is under CG NAT, so no chance of using Wireguard.

Now i have tested doing a ping between both routers and the lan devices connected and it worked, but when i access the internet my IP doesnt change. I have also tested. connecting my phone to the zerotier network but no success changing the IP.

My current Zerotier settings for managed router(only 2 are free):

  • 192.168.196.0/24 via LAN
  • 0.0.0.0/24 via 192.168.196.1 (zerototier IP for cudy router (server router) which is meant to be the exit node)

Finally i also used putty to connect to the Glinet (client) router in order to setup the server router as exit node, this was the commnad used:
zerotier-cli set zerotier_network_id allowDefault=1

Even with all these settings i cant get the ip of the devices connected to my glinet (client) vpn router to go to the internet using the IP of the Cudy (Server) router.

Please help, im getting desperate.

The GLINET routers allow exit node selection for Tailscale but I cant seem to figure out how to do it for ZeroTier.
