Just got a new iphone 16. Zerotier VPN was working fine on it. Then I upgraded to iOS18, now VPN will not run. In the settings, it says it is, but in the status bar, there is no “VPN” tag and I can’t access any of the things I used the VPN to access before iOS18. Seems like something broke with the new OS.
Problem fixed. My MAC changed for some reason on ZeroTier, so had to authorize it again for the new MAC.
I figured out the issue after my MAC changed for the umpteenth time. You have to turn off “Private Wifi address” for a particular SSID on the iOS device. Otherwise your MAC will forever be changing at odd intervals and access denied to ZeroTier network with each MAC change.
