mDNS and iOS or Static Routes

Hello!

I love the fact I can use mDNS name resolution for ZT.

However, although it works flawlessly on MacOS I am unable to resolve mDNS hosts on iOS (whatever.local)

Is this expected behavior or should I try to figure out a way to create a static route in my configuration?

Unfortunately Apple blocks the ability to use Multicast (and therefore mDNS) over the tun adapter they give us. Same story on Android as well.

Well that explains it all! Is there a way to hard code a route in the config file or I need to go the DNS route?

You’ll probably have to go DNS. AFAIK, multicast isn’t a matter of routes. It’s a feature enabled or disabled on a network adapter

Understood, thanks. So glad that the wise OS developers decided to block multicast!
