Router Configuration guide?

I‘m looking for guidelines on how to make a router friendly too Zerotier’s Hole Punching so I can enjoy direct connections instead of relayed.

My usual setup is an OpenWRT router behind LTE/4G. LTE Carriers tend to do ugly NAT.
Behind the OpenWRT router my zerotier clients sit.

So what are the steps on the router I can take to facilitate direct connections?
