Routing via LEAF nodes?

Good day,

Internet -------- NODE1 ---- BackEndLink
  -brokenLink---NODE2 -----/

NODE1 & NODE2 running 1.14.2

I have cases where the LEAF nodes, connected via a “back end/management link/network” are seeing each other, but 'cause the default gateway/network/upstream (various reasons why separate) fails, they seem to loose connectivity with the planets/earth/rest-of-network

Example: NODE2 looses internet (default route), but still ping and can see NODE1 on zerotier-cli peers and local network pingable.

When I am on NODE1 I can see/access NODE2, but seems that the rest of the world can’t?

I (wrongly?) ASSUMED that NODE2 could/should still have networking to the rest of the Zerotier network via NODE1… but it seemed to not be the case, or is there are setting on 1.14.2 I missed?

As far as I’m aware, zerotier only runs in full mesh configurations. You could maybe get the result you desire by running babel or another dynamic routing protocol on each node, although that would only work for IPv4 and IPv6 traffic.
