Set name of member when joining network

I’d like to set the short name of a member before it has been authorised post being added to the network. This would make identifying one member from another more easily.

I assumed that using zerotier-cli set name=‘myname’ would set the short-name that gets displayed in Zerotier. However nothing seemed to happen even after authorising the member.

Any ideas?

That’s what I am looking to resolve too, I need to provision bunch of computers. With out be able to identify it I can’t safely add it to the network…
Looking for solution too.
