Everything will work but via command line. You can’t use systemctl as no service exsits ? Is there a fix for this ?

Refer to the startup scripts in the upstream package – that is, the .deb file you get from install.zerotier.com – and perhaps use them in your local debian/ source overlay for rebuild.
Past that, why are you rebuilding the package?
Ok the easiest solution is just to use snap install zerotier. No issues with that.
