Personally I think it is worth a try.
I had very good experience with this: ZTNET
- a small 1GB RAM 1CPU VPS with Fix IP is cheap
- many providers offer a 30 day trial
- I have installed a Webmin to see everything easily (CPU + mem + running services)
- installing a Docker takes only a minute
- installing a Portainer also (it’s free for personal use)
- but you will need at least a sub-domain you can set the fix IP for. (I guess there are free providers for that too.)
Recommend:
- Change default SSHD port from 22 to something else ! (not 2222)
- activate Caddy on ZTNET’s config file
- create your own root = moon
- set different PORT as default !!!
- send new planet file to your friend (stop service before overwriting!)
- after everything is set → enable 2FA on your server’s admin page.
