ZeroTier doesn't work anymore in Syria

I’ve been using ZeroTier for 2 years. when suddenly about a week ago. All my nodes no longer connects to ZeroTier servers (all of them reports OFFLINE and the peer list has no IPs).
I check with my friends who are using my network and confirmed that all of them are having the same issue. If I use a VPN to tunnel my traffic then zerotier-cli info reports TUNNELED and then the peers IPs show up.
I’m wondering if this sudden change is a geo-restriction on ZeroTier’s side. And if so, why now ?

Sorry for the inconvenience but this is due to our adherence to US sanctions for that region.

Yeah, the US sanctions became less strict since the fall of the Assad’s Regime in December 2024. Link to the update here: Issuance of Syria General License and Frequently Asked Questions | Office of Foreign Assets Control
Are you sure you can’t offer your services in Syria ?

Hi there, thanks again for reaching out. I wanted to offer a bit more context on this issue. We regularly update the list of IP addresses blocked in our system as we receive updates to our GeoIP database to remain compliant with sanctions in several regions around the globe. We will review the documentation you linked above as part of our ongoing process and make changes to the IP blocking if applicable.

I have the same issue. Hopefully, this will be resolved as soon as possible.

thank you for the explanation, but its actually awkward, your service was working perfectly in Syria since ever, even after the sanctions it kept working, until 12 days ago, its a bit strange that through years of sanctions our geolocation was not included in the sanctions until 12 days ago, sorry to hear that, your were a life saver…

Me 2 have the same issue not work in syria please suggest a solution or alternative than vpn
