Zerotier Location Server and High Latency

Hi and Good Day all,

I would like to know where is the nearest location of Zerotier server for southest Asia? The latency for our system ( location : Malaysia) is about 300-400ms when access via zerotier. The ping is quite high and affect our applications. We still testing the zerotier apps before deploy to 80 Users in future.

You probably have firewalls and/or routers preventing direct connections between nodes. With the command line, you can check via the zerotier-cli peers command. I’m guessing many of the lines will say RELAY.

See here for general tips on configuring your router/firewall to allow direct connections between peers. Without direct connections, packets do have to bounce through our servers and that does add latency.
