Zerotier on OpenWrt router stops checking in with server

We have Zerotier installed on two identical OpenWrt routers. They are the same hardware, same firmware versions, same modems, same carrier, same zerotier versions, same everything. One works perfectly. The other stops phoning home (so to speak) after 2 to 3 days and cannot be accessed via the managed IP. The longest ever was 6 days.

If someone is at the location of the nonworking router, the Zerotier service can be manually restarted and it’ll begin to work again. If away, we must force a reboot to get it working again. To be clear, it’s only Zerotier which stops working, the router remains up and operational and there is full internet service.

The only difference we can see is that the one that works shows a Physical IP that is an IPv4 address. The one that craps out shows an IPv6 address. I have no idea why they are different because we set them up the same way. Also, we don’t know if this is the problem, it’s just the only thing that we found which is different.

Any ideas? Any tests we can run to trap something when it stops? Anyone know how to switch the IPv6 address to an IPv4 one?
