ZeroTier to manage remote network hardware?

How feasible is it to use ZeroTier to grant remote access to off-premises networking hardware?

I’ve gotten a few of my friends to switch to Mikrotik routers, and the new version of Mikrotik’s RouterOS has a ZeroTier implementation.

I’d like to find a good way to allow myself access to their networks without having to use static IP/dynamic DNS, or forwarding ports.

Is this a viable use for ZeroTier? Is this a common use for it?

Yes!
Basically add “managed routes” to the zerotier network. That pushes the routes to zerotier clients, so they know how to get to each LAN. It’s pretty common. Mikrotik might have their own docs on it.
